MIDNIGHT
Your farm has been infested with mysterious colorful lights! Where did they come from? Are they good or bad?
Story: Martin is a man living alone in his property deep in the forest. One night, he hears a strange noise and goes to investigate. He sees a series of weird multicolored lights. What are they? Is it monsters? Aliens? Are they good or bad? He must find out where they come from.
Location/Setting: The property of Martin. It’s a forest area with a lot of trees but also a lot of plain grassy areas. There are hills, a river, and a cave at the end. It’ll be nighttime with stars in the sky.
Mission Objective: Solve the light puzzles to uncover the source.
Gameplay Mechanics: Jumping, Running
Special Mechanics: Interact with lights and objects
About: This was my third attempt to make a game in Unreal, and the first that I feel is good enough to include here. Although this was for a level design class, I used this as an oppurtunity to tinker with Blueprints and figure out how to do some pretty cool stuff.
There were some flaws with level design, that resulted in cheap deaths, so I went back to the game in February 2016 and polished those areas, removed some unnecessary voice acting, and added a title screen.
Like all the work I made in Unreal in the Fall 2015 semester, I made the music myself in Pro Tools. Even though the game takes five minutes to win, and is very simple, I included this game on my website because it shows off some cool music I made, and shows what I am capable of doing in Unreal. I made this game in about a week with only a month's worth of Unreal and Blueprint experience.
The level itself is called "Field of Visions" but the game Midnight is named after the Coldplay song

HOW TO PLAY: Use Arrow Keys or WASD to move around. Space bar to jump. Use the mouse to move the camera. Depending on what lights you touch... different things will happen...
YELLOW LIGHTS - Normal lights, don't do anything
GREEN LIGHTS - These are good lights. Step into all of them to win the game.
RED LIGHTS - These are very harmful, being in them for more than 3 seconds will kill the player.
BLUE LIGHTS - These completely heal the player of any burns from red lights.
PURPLE LIGHTS - Mysterious... the first one is unskippable, so you will know sooner or later...
WHITE LIGHT - Visit the aliens...
Eventually the red and purple lights start to move around, so maneuvering around the field starts to become trickier.
